Meet the Vice President of the Cameroon Society of English-Speaking Evaluators (CamSEE), MERCY NGALA EPSE NDEMBE MOKAKE a dedicated and motivated professional with experience in Development Programs, Humanitarian Program Interventions, Public Health, and Hygiene Innovative and motivational Public Health Specialist with strong background in research, data analysis, reporting, management principles and practices, and active participant in diseases outbreak investigations. Exceptionally good in project design, planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. Mercy is a seasoned researcher with diverse facilitator skills in both qualitative and quantitative data collection/management, analysis, and reporting.
She thrives on keeping projects running smoothly, achieving specific project objectives and according to the project acceptance criteria and within agreed donor parameters and has been engaged in the execution and management of Public Health programs with key interests on HIV/AIDS and Malaria programs.
Prior to taking on the role of Vice President of CamSEE, Mercy served in different roles in development programs such as Public Health Program Supervisor, Food Self Sufficiency-CIG Project Manager, Data Manager, Distribution Site Supervisor, Distribution Officer, MEAL OFFICER, and MEAL TEAM LEADER, in different INGOs such as Action Against Hunger, INTERSOS, DANISH REFUGEE COUNCIL and carried out several private consultancies in overseeing several initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable Protection, Child Protection, Food Security and Livelihoods in vulnerable communities and implementing projects/programs interventions under different Donors including WFP, UNHCR, WHO, ECHO, USAID-BHA, SDCS, CDC, DANIDA, ACEFA, etc. Working under the direct supervision of Program Coordinators and Heads of Programs in different INGOs, and in close collaboration with other stakeholders at both the community and organizational levels, Mercy has been able to support in designing and implementing impactful programs that positively influence the lives of thousands of the targeted beneficiaries and persons of concern.
She is a holder of a Master of Public Health Degree (MPH- University of Buea) and a Diploma in Project Design, Planning, Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation from the Pan African Institute for Development PAID-WA, Buea, and she is currently undergoing a PhD Program in Public Health and Hygiene with specialization in Biostatistics and Epidemiology exactly at the research phase of the program at the University of Buea, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Public and Hygiene.
Mercy has been supporting the Leadership of CamSEE to ensure that CamSEE’s great vision of nurturing and growing an evaluation culture in Cameroon is realized. She has been instrumental in ensuring that the specific objectives of CamSEE are attained periodically within the desired timelines aimed at improving the quality of monitoring and evaluation in Cameroon generally. Some of the initiatives achieved so far include developing standardized M&E training for Young and Emerging Evaluators, Initiated M&E professional mentorship program, and promoting collaboration among stakeholders (civil societies and academia).
Summarily, Mercy’s work in CamSEE has been to ensure a comprehensive mastery and usage of the right knowledge, principles, procedures, methodologies and standards of M&E by the trainees, mentees, and CSOs to ensure Mand E frameworks are implemented and respected in the desired or required programs to measure the significant changes (OUTCOMES) of the programs and to use for informed policy making, advocacy and for accountability and as well ensure the capitalization of knowledge for lessons learnt, knowledge sharing and good practices.
